Overview

I joined API recently and my mandate is clear: platformize the core lines of business and introduce practical AI solutions—safely—so the organization can move faster, operate more efficiently, and unlock new revenue opportunities.

What I’m doing (directly—no “wins” section yet)

• Platform strategy & operating model
  • Define a shared platform vision across API’s lines of business (common capabilities, reusable services, consistent UX patterns).
  • Establish an execution approach that balances modernization with keeping critical business operations running.
• Platformization of lines of business
  • Identify cross‑cutting capabilities (identity/access, payments, workflow, content/data services, reporting) and convert them into shared platform components.
  • Standardize integrations and reduce “one-off” systems that slow delivery and increase risk.
• AI solutions with governance
  • Introduce AI use cases that directly improve business outcomes (automation, knowledge retrieval, decision support, customer/member experience).
  • Stand up AI governance: guardrails for data usage, model selection, security, privacy, evaluation, monitoring, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Data foundations
  • Improve data quality, access patterns, and ownership so AI initiatives are scalable and repeatable (not isolated pilots).
  • Align data work to measurable business metrics (cycle time, cost to serve, revenue per product line).

Focus areas (near-term)

• Build an “AI enablement layer” that teams can reuse (approved models/tools, prompt & RAG patterns, evaluation harness, logging/monitoring).
• Create a practical intake + prioritization process for AI ideas (value, feasibility, risk).
• Drive platform roadmaps that connect directly to revenue and operational efficiency targets.

How I measure progress

• Reduced time-to-deliver for new capabilities across business lines
• Increased reuse of shared components vs bespoke builds
• Clear governance compliance (security/privacy) without killing speed
